About the author.

Hello, my name is Jeremy Jefferson. I am currently a full-time student at ITT-Tech in Fort Wayne Indiana. I am 22 years old and live in Larwill, Indiana.

I graduated early from Whitko High School in 2005. In high school I was active in school publication. I worked on the yearbook all four years and also did the school website for a couple years.

Currently I am working towards a networking degree from ITT-Tech. My goal is to get a career in computer networking. Ideally I would love to get a job working as the IT administrator for a school.

Post Meta :

with the 14,000th spam comment attempted to be posted on my site this week, I believe it was time to try to block the bots a little more.  Even though my spam protection has yet to let any spam comments actually get on my site, I have implemented a banning feature into my site.  For now on, if anyone posts a comment that is determined by me or the filter to be spam, they will be banned from the entire site.

However, anyone who does get banned can just answer a simple captcha security image and regain access to the site. Only until 3 spam comments are posted by the same IP is the IP permanently banned from the site. I hope this works out great for my site and improves the comment area of my site.

Anyone wanting this script that runs wordpress, just contact me and I’ll hook you up.

Say, have you tried the Bad Behavior plugin yet?

I’m often stunned by how much it catches… definitely worth a look (and no, I have no affiliation with it or the author).

Hey Chris, I have no problem with Spam Karma stopping spam. This thing I wrote though will prevent any IP, once it spams to the site, from even getting the chance to do it again.

Sorry you got caught in the script…it shouldn’t have banned you since it went into moderation. I will look into this.
