About the author.

Hello, my name is Jeremy Jefferson. I am currently a full-time student at ITT-Tech in Fort Wayne Indiana. I am 22 years old and live in Larwill, Indiana.

I graduated early from Whitko High School in 2005. In high school I was active in school publication. I worked on the yearbook all four years and also did the school website for a couple years.

Currently I am working towards a networking degree from ITT-Tech. My goal is to get a career in computer networking. Ideally I would love to get a job working as the IT administrator for a school.

I bought a new keyboard and mouse yesterday. Spent $80 on them at Staples. Below is a picture of it. According to the manual, the batteries in the mouse should last six months and the keyboard fifteen months. I kind of doubt that, but we’ll see.

I would just like to say that it is May 17th and we have a frost advisory tonight.  Temperatures expected to get around freezing tonight.  Again, on May 17th….Typically lows are like in the mid 60’s and highs in the 80’s.  Does this sound like global warming to you?

Well, I found out today that I should never assume I know how to install large things such as Air Conditioners.  The other week it really got hot all of a sudden so I took the liberty of installing my AC myself.  Took me all of five minutes and I had my room cooling down.  I thought I had it secured good, especially since it has stayed put for almost two weeks now.

Well, at least until I came home from work this morning.  I found my window open, and my AC gone.  Turns out it took a nasty 6-7′ fall onto my parents roof.  Amazingly, it still works, and I don’t believe it caused any damage to the roof.

Turns out I forgot to install three of the four screws that secures the part to the AC that secures it to the window.  The screwed I did put it finally gave and could no longer hold the AC all by itself.  It stripped right out and the AC took the fall.  I woke up my mom and dad to tell them, and my mom said she wondered what that loud bang was she heard about an hour or so before.

My dad and I got it back in the window, off the roof, and plugged it in and it still worked.  So we reinstalled it, correctly, and now its cooling my room again.

Looks like I dodged a nice $100 bullet. :)
