About the author.

Hello, my name is Jeremy Jefferson. I am currently a full-time student at ITT-Tech in Fort Wayne Indiana. I am 22 years old and live in Larwill, Indiana.

I graduated early from Whitko High School in 2005. In high school I was active in school publication. I worked on the yearbook all four years and also did the school website for a couple years.

Currently I am working towards a networking degree from ITT-Tech. My goal is to get a career in computer networking. Ideally I would love to get a job working as the IT administrator for a school.

After working for Taco Bell for 7+ months and closing five nights a week for the paste four months, Taco Bell finally gave me a raise. Today I got a 50 cent raise, which amounts to $74 more a month, or $37 more per check. Which more than pays for gas, so I guess I’m happy.

Unfortunately though, or fortunately, I may not be at Taco Bell much longer because it will probably interfere with college that starts up here in about a month. I will know more on this once I get my schedule worked out for the spring semester.

As for the 360, I haven’t got my refund money yet, but I am hoping it will be deposited into my account this Friday. If so, I will probably get the 360 Saturday because I work Friday night.

Yesterday I got my W2 for my taxes and filed online. This morning when I got home from work I had an email stating that it was accepted by the IRS and they will deposit my money into my bank account in 10 to 16 days. This means I will be getting my Xbox 360 in 10 to 16 days.

I’ve been planning on using my refund money for a 360 for about four months now, so this is a much anticipated thing for me. It has been a long time since I last bought a gaming system. In fact, the last one I bought was a PS1 about four years ago. The last new system, that is one that hasn’t already had another version come out by the same company, I bought (well my parents bought) was a Sega Dreamcast. That was around 1996 I believe. So you can see I haven’t really been into gaming that much.

I do however really like playing sports games like baseball, football, basketball, and hockey. Games like these are the main purpose for me investing money into this area again. The only problem I have when I do get the 360 is finding time to play it, especially with school starting here in a little over a month also.

Well anyways, I’ll have more on this when I get the system.

I’ve really been neglecting my site the past couple months and not posting. I’m really hoping I become more motivated to post again. Anyways, to the point of this entry….

Today, well yesterday, I was officially accepted at ITT Technical Institute in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I will start classes there on March 12th. Well, that is when the semester starts, I don’t have a schedule yet, so my first class may not be on that exact date.

I will have three classes a week/semester that are four hours long each and worth 4 credit hours. I’m going for an Associates in Networking and should be done by March 2009, I hope :) .

As of right now everything is already set and done except my schedule. I have already passed an entrance exam in which they told me I did very well. Scored 21 (of 26) on the test and only needed 13 out of. Financial aid and everything has also been setup. They are even going to help me find another job to get me out of Taco Bell. That would great if they could find me a nice good paying job, or at least something better than Taco Bell.

Well, wish me luck!!! Oh, and I promise it wont be long till my next entry.

My dad and I are completely redoing my room. Everything from top to bottom and side to side is being redone. My room right now doesn’t really look that good with carpet that doesn’t fit the floor, walls with holes and cracks, a ceiling that just looks terrible; and oh, can’t forget the fact that I have no cool entertainment section.

If you have a look by clicking here you can see how bad my room just really looks. Well, using probably a little over a month’s wages from my high paying taco bell job, this is all going to change.

Here is the plan outline as of right now:

  1. Build in-wall entertainment area.
  2. Tile the ceiling and redo lighting.
  3. Redo the wall with most likely paneling.
  4. Put down new carpet.
  5. Probably buy a futon and get rid of bed.

Right now we are on step 1. Actually we are already four working days into the project. You can click here to see what it looks like as of right now. As you can see in that picture, there is a nice area for the HDTV and six shelfs for accessories such as my DVD player, surround sound receiver, upcoming XBox 360, and the upcoming satellite receiver.

This entire thing was my dad’s idea after I was looking for a nice entertainment center. I believe this is a great use for one of my slanted walls that really just causes a pain in most cases.
The area directly under the TV will be the place for the subwoofer. This will be covered with grill screen fabric I bought from ebay. The front center speaker will be in the area above the TV in the center, also covered with grill screen fabric. The two front side speakers will be near the wall in little compartments also covered with the fabric. The areas not used will be drywalled. We will then put trim around everything to make it look pretty when we do the walls.

On one of the side walls behind this structure is a closet on the other side of the wall. We are going to cut out a section of that wall which will create a crawl space behind this thing to do future rewiring and stuff.

We should be done with this part, excluding the trim, later today or later this week. Around next weekend we plan on starting on the ceiling.
